Christmas Eve 2009

Santa made it!

Here is a picture of Madelyn in her Christmas jammies and her Great Aunt Vicki from Christmas Eve.  She had just opened a new baby doll that we named "Baby Suzy."  Suzy has actually spent the last two days with Madelyn at daycare!

More pictures to come.... I am feeling a bit under the weather, so I am going to take advantage of Madelyn sleeping tonight!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and much love for a Happy New Year! ~Allie

Getting Ready for Santa!

We decorated our Christmas tree a few weeks ago. It is quite the thirsty tree! Madelyn insists that we put the lights on at all times..from the minute we wake up until the second she falls asleep! We having been singing lots of Christmas songs, reading holiday books (I can't tell my family how times I have heard the book they made on Thanksgiving!  I hear ALL of your voices daily...actually a couple of times a day!), and talking about Santa. Every morning she will tell me "Santa coming!"

This past month, Madelyn's daycare had a Holiday program.  She loved being on stage! She sang some songs and rang bells! This picture is before her show! (Notice we have gotten our wear out of her Christmas dress!)

The performer and her proud parents!

Madelyn on stage! She had to be carried off stage....she didn't want to leave!  Santa visited during her show. She was interested in him from a distance, but wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with him upclose!  Maybe next year!

Madelyn wearing her wreath!  She looked so cute!

Hope everyone is on the "nice" list this year..  Madelyn will tell you that she has been a "good girl" so Santa will bring her "toysies"

Christmas Tree 2009

Madelyn's first time to help pick out our Christmas tree.  She was a little intimidated at first.

Looking for the perfect tree!

Posing with her dad!

By the end of our visit, we had found a perfect tree and Madelyn was running around fearless!  We put the tree up this past weekend. She was SO excited while I put on the lights...just running around and screaming!  It so fun to watch how excited she gets!  She loves the tree....also our Mary and Baby Jesus underneath the tree. I had to put away our Lenox Nativity set this year...did not think it was going to make it till Christmas! We have our old set out!  It works! She puts baby Jesus in his little bed tonight and even kissed him good night!

More pictures of the tree to come...too tired tonight.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday Madelyn!

Can you believe it??  She is already two years old, how fast the time has gone!  She is definitely a toddler now in every way! She is very "busy" and quite the chatterbox!

We celebrated her birthday on Saturday with a Dora theme birthday party!  Lots of family traveled several hours from all over to help celebrate with us! Madelyn had lots of fun opening all her presents!  She did exceptionally well all day especially since she skipped out on her nap!

Before the party, Madelyn found the Dora party hats....  She found the hat to be "tight" and said "Mad hold."  So she preferred to just hold the hat on her head.

Getting ready for the party!  She did NOT like the string on the hat!

Opening some gifts before the party!

Always need a picture with the cake. Once Madelyn saw the cake, she wanted to sing "Happy Birthday!" We could not get her away from the cake!

More pictures with the cake!

And the guests arrived...  Madelyn got some wonderful new toys, clothes, and a very cute pair of shoes!

The much highly anticipated "Happy Birthday" song!  Madelyn has been practicing singing the song for weeks!  It is a household favorite!  She
always makes sure to tell me who we are going to sing to... Elmo, Kermie, her grandparents!

Sampling some icing!!

The Birthday Girl!

Madelyn playing in her new purple tunnel on Sunday morning! Mommy and Daddy bought the extra big tunnel since we knew we were going to have to fit in it too!

Wow, has it been two years already!  Happy Birthday Madelyn! I love you~Mommy!

Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Birthday Mike!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We enjoyed a quiet day and hopefully my family enjoyed their dinner as well!  We started our morning with milk and coffee while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade...a favorite! I was surprised to find that Madelyn really enjoyed it! She especially liked Kermie, Mickey Mouse, and Yo Gabba Gabba!

Our dining room table and china/glasses from our wedding were FINALLY put to use!  Madelyn loved eating in the dining room!

Getting Ready for Turkey and Birthday Cake!

For the past couple of days Madelyn has been asking me about her Birthday and Santa.  She can tell you that she will be two and associates both, Santa and her bday, with presents! Smart girl!!!

Adam and I decided to stay in Ohio this year for Thanksgiving.  It will be quite different from past Thanksgivings without having lots of family around.  (As we all know, especially Adam, I am not the Ohio fan)  However, driving back and forth all the time especially with a little one becomes quite tiring.  So even though it will be just the three of us, it will be our first Thanksgiving (my first for cooking) at home.  I hope to make it as special as I can.  We will see how it goes.....

Adam spent last weekend putting up our outdoor Christmas lights. They look perfect!!!!  I was very impressed! Madelyn too! She thinks they are to run through and touch!  I think our neighborhood might have a hard time competing with our house! Could Adam be turning into "Sparky" this Christmas!  Good Job Adam!

Hoping to get the Christmas tree soon! I love Christmas and Madelyn is already starting to sing "jingle bells" and "Frosty."  I think I am going to have a fun holiday season with Madelyn this year! What would I do without her!

Halloween 2009

Madelyn was dressed up as a...........LADYBUG! Great job on the poll!

This picture is not exactly her full costume, but half costume and half Halloween pajamas! She loved her "wings" and wore them several days before and after Halloween. The first word she said to me Halloween morning when I took her out of her crib was "fly, fly" (In Madelyn translation = wings). It was very sweet! She was so happy to get some Halloween treats especially her glo-worm and her tea set!

The Halloween bib became a staple at our house this October. Madelyn insisted on wearing it everyday for every meal. Sitting with her is her baby that she named "Rock-a-Baby." The name "Rock-a-Baby" originated from a song I sang to her when I would rock her as a baby (a song/melody I would overhear my mom singing to Madelyn when she was born as well as the same song I heard my G. Gunkie sing one day. We, or maybe just me because I do not know all of the words, seem to have our own variation of it.) Regardless, Madelyn always seemed to like it! In fact now she can sing it while rocking her baby dolls!!! (I even heard her dad singing it to her tonight too! He really has his own variation though!!!)

Madelyn, Mommy, and Rock-a-Baby! The baby is never far from reach! The "girls" and Adam. Madelyn had just "bunked" her head on the steps which resulted in a pretty big black and blue mark on the middle of her forehead. In her hands is boo-boo bunny!

Fall 2009

So far we have kept pretty busy this fall. We have our Halloween decorations up and our pumpkins picked! Madelyn loves the pumpkins and the "friendly ghosties" scattered throughout the house! (Everything now ends in a "y" or "ie") We spent one Saturday afternoon at the Columbus Zoo for Jack Hanna's Fall/Harvest Day. The picture below is of Adam and I trying to get Madelyn to look away from the elephants to take her picture! We got one after several tries!! She even had her first train ride! Adam was going to ride with us, but he had to make a quick jump to save my sunglasses....thankfully, they did not get run over!
After a bout of the flu, pink eye (both eyes!), and a couple trips to the doctor, everyone is healthy again! I am REALLY hoping for an ear infection free fall and winter. Madelyn's doctor even mentioned possibly taking her off the inhaler this spring! Keep your fingers crossed!!

Last weekend, I took Madelyn to Trax's Farm, one of my favorite places to visit this time of year. It is always filled with tons of kids running around! Madelyn wanted right out of the cart and into the pile of pumpkins!

Madelyn eating her pumpkin cookie. Of course, I had to have my candy apple too!

Stace and I trying to hold onto her!

Madelyn's new daycare is going very good thus far. In fact, the "trikathon" was held today. Madelyn and the other children brought their bikes to school today to learn about "bike safety" and rode their bikes to raise money for St. Jude's Hospital. We took the straps off this morning, so her dad and her practiced on how to get on and off the bike!

Monday Morning!

Just a couple of pictures of Madelyn before heading off to school this morning. She is dressed head to toe in pumpkins! I was surprised to find that she kept her pumpkin bow in her hair all day! She was quite intrigued by it this morning!

A tradition continues...

With each first day of school came the "first day of school picture"by the front door for Michael, Stacey, and myself. Even though I probably complained about it year after year, the tradition continues for Madelyn. As the Resavage family will notice, the door is closed (I would have had an escapee) and Madelyn is not wearing new shoes nor a new outfit. However, I can explain... It was actually the second week at the new daycare and her new lunch bag just had arrived! You get the drift.... (P.S. Love you Mom!)

New School

I know it has been quite a while since I lasted posted... Really I have no excuses. Once you get away from it, it is hard getting back into the swing of things (sorta like going to the gym!).
(Crazy hair day at school!)
Madelyn started a new daycare this week. It is much smaller and hopefully a better fit for her! It was probably a more stressful transition for me than for her. She seems to already feel comfortable! We do need to bring a lunch each day for her, so I have stocked up at the grocery store. (Plus I have a really cute personalized lunch bag on the way for her!!).

Madelyn & Aunt Amy

Madelyn is talking more and more each day! She likes to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Happy Birthday." She has also learned to throw a pretty good meltdown!!!

Madelyn & Aunt Alexis

P.S. Jenn-I bought Madelyn a "dipstix" for ice cream cones/popsicles! What a great invention! I kept seeing Rowan's pics, so I had to try it!

Beach Pictures

Some pictures of Madelyn and her friend Jackson enjoying Pensacola. She loved to follow Jackson's lead especially when taking pictures...She finally understands saying "cheese" for pictures does not mean she is going to eat cheese! We had lots of fun! The first day Madelyn was afraid to put her feet in the sand, I had to carry her. By the last day she wanted to run into the water by herself...we learned that she is fearless. We usually knew it was time to go back into the condo when she would start to eat the sand...

Sneak Preview

We just returned from Pensacola last night and we are still recovering from the long drive (and a day of work). So, hopefully by the end of the week I will have some more pictures posted. We had a great time! The Hulse's (Colbi, Matt, and Jackson) also joined us in Florida! The kids had lots of fun playing together in the pool and at the beach! In fact, the first thing Madelyn said when she woke-up this morning was "Jackson." Check back soon for more vacation pictures...
