A Visit from Toledo

This past weekend (actually two weekends ago....I wrote this awhile ago), the Hulse family came to visit.  This visit Madelyn was able to keep up with Jackson (he will be 2 next month) a little better--now that she is walking! Despite Madelyn's cold, the two little "bobcats" (Ohio University's mascot...Colbi-I stole your phrase-too cute!) were non-stop!  I think Madelyn picked up Jackson's love for playing outside! Before bedtime, the two of them sat at the pink Dora table to enjoy a bedtime snack. Too cute!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Hope everyone had a "Happy St. Patty's Day."  Dressed all in green, we celebrated the day with Reuben sandwiches and lots of Irish 'kisses."  Madelyn enjoyed playing outside in the nice weather today. She made shamrocks at school by painting her hands green and enjoyed some Irish treats!!  The first pic is her new obsession...we look out the window daily (several times a day!) for the doggie next door.  She now imitates the sounds of many different animals including a horse-I just recognized the association tonight during bathtime with a sea horse.

Under the Weather

The Chase household has been quite a hectic place lately.  The three of us have been taking turns not feeling well.  Shortly after Madelyn's surgery, she and I both started not to feel that great.   I think her tummy was upset, so she wasn't eating or drinking well last weekend.  We took her Friday to her 15 month well check-up. Her doctor said that her ear tubes looked good, but mentioned that he would not be surprised if her left ear drained for a week.  It must have been pretty bad!  She is now about 21 lbs (in the 10th-25th percentile) and in the 50th percentile for height.
Thankfully, we are done with doctor visits and medications for a while (keep your fingers crossed). She most definitely hated her ear drops!  During bathtime Madelyn is temporarily wearing cotton in her ears to keep out the water.  However, to get her to put (and keep) the cotton in is another story. Everyone participating in bathtime MUST wear cotton in their ears too. THEN, once everyone has their cotton in...it is dance party time! (Madelyn loves to dance!).  Once her attention is on her bath toys, I quickly take mine out so she forgets about them....it is quite the process! It is pretty funny to see her dance as soon as the cotton goes in her ears!
So as this weekend nears, Madelyn has yet another cold and I am getting one as well (Adam just got over one). I have to admit I thought once the tubes were in things would change a little bit...like all of us getting a little more sleep and her feeling better.  Maybe I was expecting miracles....
