18 months old and counting!

So hard for me to believe that Madelyn is 18 months old! Definitely a toddler in every way! This past week in daycare she was transitioned into the "toddler room." She did very well and the new teachers seem nice. She now takes her nap on a cot (which she had no problems with doing), has circle time (hasn't mastered that yet---the sitting thing for longer than a second), and being introduced to the potty. It is so cute to see her meet new friends. Already the girls play together and the boys do their own thing. Thursday, the girls were playing with the "kitchen." Friday night, we headed to Primrose (daycare) for a carnival that was held to raise money for cancer. Madelyn loved it especially the duck pond and the inflatable bouncing/jumping toy for little ones. She looked so cute jumping up and down, bouncing all around. She would smile and smash her face against the netting. (Madelyn is in the blue. Sort of hard to see with the netting). Adam is in the process of putting together an outdoor playyard. Hopefully it will be a nice surprise for Madelyn when she wakes up from her nap! I definitely will have to post some pics of her playing on it! The last picture is just a funny picture from last week at the Columbus Zoo! Click on the pic...She has a mouthful of food!

Muffins with mom and a whole lot more!

I had a wonderful second mom's day! I was invited to "Muffins with Mom" at Madelyn's school. I was able to visit daycare and spend some of the morning with Madelyn. She made me a beautiful framed picture of three tulips (the petals are her hand prints). On actual Mother's Day, I participated in the "Race for the Cure" in Pittsburgh with Mom, Stace, and Adam. It was a great turnout and the weather cooperated! Too cool for Madelyn to join us which her staying home was a good thing considering we came home to a sick little one. She had a 102 degree fever and just was not feeling well! It hit her all of a sudden, Saturday she was in the best of moods! It was her first high fever and a little nerve-wrecking for us. I realized moms do not even catch a break on Mother's Day!!!!!!
The following day Adam played "Mr. Mom" and stayed home with the little girl. Her fever broke before I left for work thankfully. We were all exhausted by the evening after a VERY long night! I was so glad she was better though, I hated to see her so sick and sad! Madelyn is saying so much now and she imitates everything! She gives great kisses, even Eskimo kisses! It's so cute! We took her to the park on Friday evening. She loved to swing and go down the slides. Both Adam and I would ride down with her on the slide (yes....this was our Friday night!). After riding the closed slide, both of our hair (Madelyn and I ) would be a mess of static! We had fun and she did great leaving the park as well! It's Sunday and we spent the day planting some flowers and washing the windows. Getting ready to start the new week... Looks like we may be spending the evenings looking for a new washer...we had a little flood today! Much Love, Allie

8:01 a.m.

Madelyn woke-up at 8:01 a.m. Saturday morning--a first! May not sound that impressive to all of you, but it is "sleeping in" for us during the weekend! She tends to sleep later on the days we have to get up to work and earlier on the weekend. However, Sunday Adam and I woke up to our regular wake-up call (or cry) at 7:00 a.m. My Mom and Dad came to visit Madelyn and keep me company on Friday. We had a nice day and the rain held off till dinnertime. The pic is of Madelyn in her new "trike" (bike/stroller). She loves it! And
she stays in it more importantly. Madelyn now plays with her dolls a lot. She likes to put them in her shopping cart and push them around. They even have diapers on them!
