Snowed in!

No daycare, no work... lots of snow kept us inside today!   Adam thinks we got about ten inches of snow plus some ice. Madelyn and I spent the day in our pjs and had some major bonding time. She took some good naps and seems to be getting over her cold.  She loves to watch the snow and her dad outside from the living room window.  The snow seemed to stop around one o'clock; however, our road has not even seen a plow or salt yet! I still have yet to figure out why they do not keep up or even salt the roads in Ohio.... so as of 5:00 pm we are still housebound (and I am getting major cabin fever!).
Keep safe!

Happy Birthday to a "Great" Pap!!!

Madelyn helping her "Great Pap" open his birthday present!
We went to Pittsburgh this past Saturday to celebrate Madelyn's Great (or my) Pap's 81st birthday!  The entire crew surprised him with a birthday dinner and cake at my Aunt Kathy's beautiful new home.  I think that he was really surprised  We had lots of fun and plenty of food!  I'm so glad we were able to come and see everyone since we were unable to make it last year!  We did do some shopping on Sunday (Jenn...you know I always have to go to the Village when I am in BP) for some Steeler gear and new shoes for Madelyn. She is now sporting some purple suede shows....with rhinestones and an orange stripe !  Pretty stylish and super cute!
The top pic is of Madelyn climbing Kathy's steps. Thanks for having us Bobby and Kathy!

Hippie Chic

This is Madelyn learning how to jump by her Aunt Stacey. Madelyn had a blast in her hippie shirt, laughing so hard she kept getting hiccups!

New Clothes!

Some new pics of Madelyn modeling some new bday/Xmas clothes! She looks good in blue...a nice change from all the pink! The rocking horse is a new present from her birthday. She is now able to climb on and off it all by herself! She gets a little wild on it! She now has learned how to sign "more" and use it appropriately....especially when she wants some more cheerios. It's pretty cute. Also, she knows the song "the wheels on the bus." I guess daycare is paying off!
We visited the ENT last week. We go back in three more weeks to have her checked out again. He is pretty confident that she will need tubes, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it was just a bad two months of colds! She has only had two ear infections, but they do not seem to respond to medicine (plus her dad doesn't have the best history with his ears). Every time she pulls at her ears/hair...I worry!
I have run into another problem with updating the blog efficiently. My computer has a bad virus! Adam's been working on it, but it seems like we might need the "geek squad." It is always something... Hopefully we will be up and running smoothly again soon. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Go Steelers!!! P.S. Becky.... Thanks for her outfit! Doesn't she look like a "big girl" in it!

Happy Holidays!

Madelyn, Adam, and I have had a very busy past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, Madelyn was not feeling well a few weeks prior to Christmas which continued until last week. She has had some really persistent ear infections, which resulted in a series of injections and three doctor office visits in one week! Plus four new teeth! We were at the doctor's office on Christmas Eve as well as the day after Christmas! Therefore, our little one was not her happy self for Christmas. However, Santa was able to see past the crankiness and made it to our home in Ohio on Weds. morning.
Then, we headed East to Pittsburgh for some Holiday festivities. After putting cookies out for Santa, Adam, Stace, mom, and I all went to Midnight mass. Santa was able to find Madelyn again for Christmas morning. Madelyn opened some gifts herself, but enjoyed trying to eat the wrapping paper the most. Each day she seemed to feel a little bit better and slept lots. She even had her first "Gunkie" cookie this year!
Christmas Pajamas are a must!

Madelyn's Christmas dress...the bow didn't last long!

Then, we headed to Indianapolis for some more Christmas celebrating. By Saturday, Madelyn was beginning to feel a little better. The weather was in the sixties, a nice change from the cold. Madelyn enjoyed watching the squirrels play through the window and playing with her new toy. Adam and I went to the Colts game for a bit on Sunday then headed back to Ohio. I seem to end up sitting in the backseat now! We were all exhausted from the busy holiday and could not wait to sleep in our own beds again!

Our happy baby returned to us on Monday. I worked as Adam played "Mr. Mom." However we do have an ENT appointment next week. An old friend of mine, Vanessa, drove in from Pittsburgh. We all rang in the new year with Mexican food and sparkling cider (Vanessa's due in March)! We were all in bed by 12:30 a.m!

Madelyn has found a new love today for wearing the Santa hat. She loves it and becomes so excited about wearing it! Maybe she is already getting excited for next year! Could my love for Christmas be wearing off on her?

Our basement looks like a toy store with a pink Dora table and chairs, a tent, and lots of toys to ride! Today, the three of us spent the day relaxing at home. We had a wonderful time visiting lots of family, ate lots of good food, and opened lots of wonderful presents! We thank you all for everything and appreciate all the nice gifts!

Hope everyone had a happy holiday! P.S. I got a new camera!!!!
